FAQ. A few of the questions we’re often asked about Hunter Valley hens Pilates
-
It’s a 45–60 minute Pilates class tailored to your hens group, held at your Hunter Valley accommodation or a chosen venue. Think slow, stretchy and feel-good movement (with the option to turn the tempo up a little if that’s your vibe), suitable for all levels, even if some of the group have never done Pilates before.
-
Absolutely. Most hens groups have a mix of total beginners and people who’ve done Pilates before. We design the class so everyone can join in, with clear coaching and options to make things gentler or stronger depending on how you’re feeling on the day.
-
Yes, they’re very welcome. We just ask that you let us know in advance if anyone is pregnant, postpartum or managing injuries, so we can plan safe options for them. On the day we’ll also check in with each person and offer modifications as needed.
-
We can usually accommodate small groups through to larger bridal parties. For most hens, 8–18 guests works beautifully, but we can discuss numbers when you enquire. If your group is very large, we may suggest splitting into two shorter back-to-back sessions so everyone still gets attention.
-
We can do either:
Come to you – we travel to your Hunter Valley accommodation or venue (most popular), or
Studio option – if you’d like to begin in Newcastle at Grace Movement before heading up, we can organise a studio class first.
When you enquire, let us know where you’ll be staying and we’ll chat through the best option.
-
You’re welcome to use your own yoga mats or towels if you have them. We can also arrange to bring mats and small props (like bands or balls) for an additional hire fee or within your package – just mention this in your enquiry. We’ll always make sure the set-up suits your space and numbers.
-
Most hens sessions run for 45–60 minutes, depending on your schedule. That gives enough time to warm up, move, stretch and take a quiet moment at the end – without eating too much into your day of wine tastings and celebrations.
-
Our most popular times are:
Morning sessions – a gentle start to the day before wine tours or long lunches
Late afternoon – a reset between activities before getting ready for the evening
We’re happy to work around your itinerary where possible. Just let us know your preferred time window when you enquire.
-
Comfortable clothing you can move in – leggings, shorts, singlets or tees. Barefoot or socks is perfect. Bring:
A water bottle
A mat or towel if you’re using your own
A jumper for cooler mornings or relaxation at the end
No need for anything fancy; activewear and messy ponytails are more than welcome.
-
Yes, within reason. We can:
Tailor the vibe – slow and restorative, or more upbeat and playful
Build in a group photo moment at the end
Use a playlist that fits your theme (e.g. chilled, 90s, golden hour)
We keep everything inclusive and tasteful so all ages feel comfortable – think fun and light-hearted rather than cheesy.
-
Pricing depends on group size, location and whether you need mats provided, but as a guide our hens Pilates packages start from $X for up to X guests. Once you share your details we’ll send through a personalised quote with clear inclusions, so there are no surprises.
-
Fill out the enquiry form or email us with your date, location, group size and preferred time.
We’ll confirm availability and send a quote.

-

Cancellations more than X days before the event – deposit refundable or transferable
Cancellations within X days – deposit non-refundable (to cover time held and planning)
If you need to move your session time on the day due to unexpected changes, we’ll do our best to accommodate within our schedule. (You can tailor the Xs to your actual policy.)
-
For indoor sessions, we can usually go ahead as planned.
For outdoor sessions, we’ll:
Keep an eye on the forecast in the days prior
Arrange a wet-weather backup option (indoor space at your accommodation where possible)
If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable and no backup is available, we’ll discuss rescheduling or alternative options with you.
-
Totally normal. You can book with an estimated number, and we’ll confirm final numbers closer to the date (usually 7–10 days before) so we can plan mats, spacing and final pricing. Just keep us updated as your RSVPs come in.
