Small group mat classes held upstairs at Dixon Park Surf Club, overlooking the ocean. Move with the sound of the waves as you strengthen and tone your whole body, with a focus on breath, technique and alignment. Mat Pilates helps build deep core strength, improve posture and support the joints, which can help reduce or prevent common aches and pains in the back, hips, neck and shoulders.

A small group mat class designed to strengthen and tone the whole body, with a strong focus on breath, technique and alignment. All levels are welcome, with plenty of space to work at your own pace. Progressions and regressions are offered throughout, so you can choose what feels right for your body on the day.

All mats and additional equipment are provided.

All mats and additional equipment are included, so you can simply arrive, breathe, and move.

  • You’re welcome to bring your own mat or towel. If you don’t have one, check your class details – some locations have mats available or can be set up on grass with a towel.

  • If weather makes it unsafe or uncomfortable to practise outside, we’ll either move to an alternative location or cancel the class and return your credit. We’ll notify you by email/SMS as early as possible, so please make sure your contact details are up to date.

  • Yes. Mat classes are open to all levels. Your teacher will offer options for stronger days and softer days so you can move in a way that feels right for your body.

  • Mat access depends on your membership type. Some memberships are studio-only, and some include studio + mat or unlimited mat. You can check this on our offerings page or ask us and we’ll confirm

  • Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and layers you can add or remove depending on the weather. We recommend sunscreen, a hat for sunrise/sunset, and something warm for relaxation on cooler mornings or evenings.

  • Absolutely. Mat classes are a beautiful first experience of Pilates. Your friend can purchase a Mat Intro Offer or a casual mat pass and join you.
